The part of this chapter that I have to keep in mind the most is the section on page 66, "Don't favor the students you think will do best." Students ask teachers to push all the students equally to improve and to not just favor the kids who are already achieving, these are not that kids that need the pushing.
During practicum I have a had to purposefully remove myself from a situation where I am talking only to the students that already understand what we are talking about already. It is a lot easier to talk to students that express an interest in the material of the class.
